Understanding the Judging Process

Once the submission deadline has passed, all accepted nominations will be evaluated by the Judging Panel, which consists of senior industry leaders from diverse backgrounds, each recognized as an expert in their respective field.
Judges receive individual scoring sheets for each nomination within the Award categories they are assigned. Each entry is to be rated on a scale from 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest. Judges may provide their subjective comments, if any.
Once the score sheets have been received and the results tabulated, the top-performing entries in each category will be shortlisted. These category-specific shortlists will be announced on The Maritime Standard website on Monday, 29th September 2025, as "Finalists." Entrants selected as Finalists will also be notified by email.
These “Finalists” are then further evaluated by the Chairman of the Judging Panel to determine the final ‘Winners’. In the event of a tie, the Chairman is authorised to cast a tie-breaking vote.
The Winners will be revealed on 29th October 2025 during The Maritime Standard Awards Gala Dinner, the Biggest Awards in Shipping and Maritime.
